Delicious chia strawberry banana smoothie wihtout any added sugar. protein rich diabetic friendly smoothie
Here it is bitter cold, still I can’t complain much as it is not as brutal as in the northern part of country. Still walking around is difficult. As soon as I get into the car, I am cranking up the heat, but it still requires some time for the engine to get warm. I am also lazy to cook or bake, and I need to start baking as my do list is growing so faster. Yesterday morning I made this chia strawberry banana smoothie for my breakfast.
My kids like simple strawberry smoothie a lot, I even buy some strawberries and keep it as some days they ask for it a lot. My hubby also enjoys the strawberry banana smoothie if there is no sugar added. He doesn’t like to add any sweetener. When I make smoothie at home I make it without sugar and then add the sugar when I am giving to kids. My daughter especially has a high sweet tooth.
I had bought a packet of chia seed a long time ago, but never got time to try it. As it is New Year, I needed to try at least some healthy dishes, so decide to try this chia strawberry banana smoothie.

Swathi, that sounds so good! I can't believe I still haven't tried chia seeds, but I haven't. Thanks for the tip about soaking them. Must pick some up this week and make this smoothie!

I've done the same thing. I have a package of Chia seeds in the pantry, but haven't tried them yet. I've seen smoothies that say to just throw the seeds into the blender with the other ingredients. I definitely makes more sense to soak them overnight. So do you pour the blended smoothie over the soaked seeds? I don't see any reference to what to do with the soaked seeds in your instructions. I ask because I want to try this. It looks delicious and as you said - so healthy!

I added soaked chia seeds to smoothie once it is made just mix in no need of adding them in blender.

We also use chia seeds quite often, but in our breakfast granola with milk or sometimes in "puddings". That said, if I just let your smoothie "rest" in the fridge for about 30 mins, it is actually the chia-seed "pudding" that I usually make.
