Swathi some unsolicited advice... Jowar flour has low gluten. Take your atta make a well in the centre add boiling water. Now with the spatula put the flour in the well and cover it. Then very gently knead it. not make a dough. It is like your dry but wet dough. As you make the roti knead the ball with a little warm water and take a lot of dry flour in the plate, slab you are making pat the dough to the size u manage. The kannada word is tattu, occasionally turn the roti. Now transfer it to the tava the patted side dowm. Take a little water from the water u have and with a clean cloth spread it on the roti.
by the way I love the bhaji and its teh way I cook nothing is chopped in advance;)

No matter which part of the world I travel to, the one thing I will not give up is eating Indian food. I grew up eating Indian food and am still loving it.
This is an excellent and perfect pairing for cappati and we do enjoy gobi, not only at home but when we are in Indian vegetarian restaurants, the must order is also the gobi.

Lovely dish Swathi, hats of to your husband for making this so good. And at times we do take cooking so easy, i can imagine last week alone had 3 flopped recipes and was so irritated 🙂 but the good thing is we learn from our cooking mistakes. Girl u are so good in write ups and admire your skill to write so much for every recipe 😉

hi swathi this dish looks good and yummy
coming to jowar roti, i can give u clue
though i hv never had jowar atta in my life but i make with bajra atta. dont know what its called in english yet. its bit greyish in color
when u make dough rub bit of oil in the made atta.
if u cant use hands then put the atta ball in one plastic sheet and lightly roll it
use bit of oil on plastic sheet so it wont stick
then u wud be able to take it out and make it
i have bajra atta poori on my blog
u can check out fm index
hope it works for u
