Irish Whiskey Vs Bourbon or Scotch
Bourbon is sweeter and denser and Irish whiskey which is less smokey and smooth with fruity tones.
Typically, bourbon claims strong flavors of oak, caramel, marshmallow, and vanilla. Whiskey, however, has a taste that is warm, spicy, sweet, caramelly, or toasty in flavor.
Irish whiskey uses barley malt with the occasional cereal grains blended in (depending on the type), however, bourbon mash typically contains at least fifty-one percent corn.
Scotch whisky differ from Irish whiskey in the distillation process. While both spirits are distilled liquors, Scotch is distilled twice compared to Irish whiskeys thrice distillation. This extra distillation gives Irish whiskey a smoother finish.

Difference between shaken or mixed cocktail?
Here is the rule of thumb, if the final drink is clear ( such as with pure spirit, with little sugar), then stir. If it is cloudy (contains ingredients like juices, egg, honey, or cream), then shake.
If you are going for a shaken cocktail, then its good shake should last about 10 to 20 seconds. Also, it depends on the type of ice you are using. If you use big and hard cubes, then shake longer to ensure the desired dilution happens. With small cubes, you need to shake quicker to avoid excessive watering of the cocktails.
Finally, opening a shaker can be tricky. Hold the larger piece of the tin in your weak hand. With your dominant hand, smack the heel of your palm against the line where the top and main piece meet. This should loosen it for twist-off. Never hit your shakers against a countertop—this will cause damage or even breakage.
If you are going for double straining shaken cocktail for final light and fluffy texture and removes ice chips that might have broken off while shaking.
