What you need
Kadala parippu/chana dal: 1/3 cup
Sabudana/Tapioca pearls: 1 tablespoon
Jaggery: 2/3 cup
Ghee/Clarified butter: 1 tablespoon
Coconut milk or cream; ½ cup ( I used store bought one , if you wish use home made one)
Ground ginger: 1/8 teaspoon
Coconut chopped: 2 tablespoon ( if you want reduce or increase the quantity, use copra for authentic)
Cardamom: 3 pods
Cashews: 10 nos.
Water: 2 1/4cup
How I made
Preparation time: 45 minutes
Yield: 4 serving
Verdict: very yummy and tasty

Payasam looks nice, my sis likes pal payasam and I like paruppu payasam, amma has to cook everything twice..akka likes idlis and I like dosas 🙂

I am very sorry to hear about your mom.I can very much understand what you might be going through as I too feel the same way about my father ,I could not see him when he passed away as I was here and just then I had a baby.I too feel that he is still somewhere but the moment the truth strikes it hurts a lot.I too think of the many things that I could have done along with him when he visited here for the last time…but that will never happen.Sorry for being emotional.
