Squeeze lemon or lime juice onto watermelon for a refreshing treat. Boost of acidity makes the melon taste sweeter.
You can make various delicious cocktails with fresh, juicy watermelon. Adding watermelon cubes to mojito recipe can results in delicious Independence Day Mojito, Watermelon margarita and Watermelon vodka martini.
How to make Watermelon Margarita
Traditional margaritas call for triple sec, tequila, and lime or lemon juice. While Watermelon margarita uses fresh watermelon juice, lime juice, tequila, you can either add triple sec or not to. Then Simple syrup spiced up with jalapeno pepper gives spicy kick to the Margarita along with tajin in the rim of the glass.
Instead of adding separately watermelon juice, lime juice, jalapeno pepper infused simple syrup and tequila you can blend everything together in blender.
If your watermelon is super ripe and sweet, you will not need to add any sugar to the blender. However, if you feel like your margarita needs a little bit of sweet, add some simple syrup, or just a tablespoon or two of sugar or you can use agave nectar.
Points to remember
Use fresh and sweet watermelon, also make sure to strain the juice if it is not from seedless watermelon.
Adding jalapenos to Simple syrup brings out spicy kick, if you do not want it you can skip that and use simple syrup or agave nectar.
A Classic margarita includes, 2 oz Tequila, 1 oz Lime juice, 1 oz Cointreau while as this watermelon margarita is lighter than classic one as it has more fruit juice and no triple sec or Cointreau.
Use your favorite tequila, but good quality is must.
If you want to serve it for a bunch of people simply increase the quantity of ingredients.
