- 1 ½ cup / 187g All-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon / 3g baking soda
- 3 tablespoon /41g butter
- 2 tablespoon /34g honey
- 2 ¾ tablespoon /2 tablespoon Molasses
- 2 tablespoon /30g Sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ½ teaspoon ground all spice
- ½ teaspoon anise seed
- Zest of one orange
- Glaze
- 2 cups of Confectioner’s sugar
- 1-2 tablespoon water
In a bowl add flour and baking soda and mix well and set aside.
In another bowl heat butter, sugar, honey, molasses and spices and gradually add to the flour mix and then add egg and mix well.
Refrigerate the cookie dough to overnight.
Next morning pre-heat oven to 350F
Cut the cookie dough into 2-inch pieces and bake for 10 minutes.
Make glaze in a bowl and dip the cooled cookies. If you make thicker glaze then you get thicker white colored cookies.
Enjoy Pfeffernusse with cup of coffee.
