Happy New Year.
For me 2018 has left on a sad note, yes, I lost my dad in December. Now I don’t have mom or dad, both have left me. So not much celebration in my house. But I love to enjoy cocktail in New Year’s Eve. If you are celebrating the New Year party, try this Spiced cider bourbon cocktail. Simple and easy you need only spices and apple cider along with your favorite bourbon.
I used Jim beam bourbon, you can use your favorite one. This spiced cider bourbon cocktail is a delicious variation on the traditional! In this recipe I combined warm spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves with sweet brown sugar, apple cider and rum, all topped with a little club soda to create that delicious fizz. You can welcome the New Year with this delicious drink. You can make ahead spiced apple cider, when guest arrive you can combine with bourbon and club soda and serve.
If you want, you can garnish with apple slice. Apple cider are on sale these days, I got half a gallon for 98 cents. Since we are not going out for any party and not in a mood to use champagne or sparkling wine-based cocktail, I tried this simple yet great tasting cocktail. Earlier I have tried bourbon and pineapple juice cocktail that is also wonderful tasting one.
True cider is produced with an apple press and yields a juice with a sweet-tart taste and an opaque color, due to the tiny bits of apple suspended in the amber liquid. If you have time to check it out, here are my recipe of Homemade apple cider and apple butter
I think you can play with flavors add some fresh ginger or black pepper corn to bring out spicier note. May be next time I am going to give it a try.
Happy New Year to all, wishing that the new year brings you all the happiness you wished for.
