I am a smoothie person so love to try a new one whenever it is possible. This delicious strawberry banana orange smoothie is great after a busy morning or a workout schedule to cool down your body. Since I had fresh fruits in my hand I used that, but you can use frozen one.
This recipe is adapted from The New American Heart Association Cookbook 9th Edition. Recipes starts from 12th page to 502 and each one includes nutrition analysis that way you can decide which dish you need to try according your dietary needs.
This is ninth edition; it contains more than eight-hundred recipes, with more than a hundred of them being new ones. Recipes are divided into Appetizers, Snacks and Beverages, Soups, salads and salad dressings. There is a special section of slow-cooker recipes, seafood, poultry, meats, vegetarian entrees, vegetables and side dishes, sauces and gravies, breads and breakfast dishes and desserts.
Each recipe comes with bold title and serving size and a short description followed by list of ingredients and directions as a short paragraph without any photo of final product. There are two to four recipes on each pages.
Pros includes this book is good with lot of recipes (more than the previous editions) with extra section on slow-cooker creations and one-pan meals. It is almost like a bible of cookbook with various healthy recipes. Cons includes there is no photograph as nowadays every cook book comes with colorful photographs. The other thing is lack of preparation and cook time. Instead of a direction paragraph, it would have better to be bulleted for easy reading.
On the whole this book is broad compilation of healthy recipes that you can refer any time. I tried Berry banana smoothie from this book, because it doesn’t have any added sugar. Since my hubby is diabetic he can also enjoy it as there is no added sugar. I used all fresh ingredients even freshly squeezed orange juice. If you want to try healthy recipes in your kitchen you can buy this book, but not expect the colorful breathing taking photograph.
Are you a busy mom like me or workout fanatic, or just love to try a new healthy recipe then get ready to enjoy this smoothie.

I regularly have strawberry and banana but funnily enough, I've never had it with orange before! Totally have to give that a go for my next smoothie, I can imagine how great it tastes already!

Smoothies are my go to afternoon snacks. They are just easy, and we always have frozen bananas and/or strawberries in the freezer. The addition of the orange, I bet is a great pick me up! I'll have to give this a try.

You can never go wrong with a good smoothie, healthy, delicious and super easy to make. My daughter loves all the fruit here, she'd definitely like the smoothie, and she's usually the fussy one.
