Cranberry Collins Cocktail is a fall cocktail based on the Classic Tom Collins made with cranberry simple syrup and cranberry juice.
This is sponsored post I received product from Regatta Craft mixers. However all the opinion are mine.
If you are looking to entertain friends and family this holiday season, here is a perfect cocktail for that party. Yes, Cranberry Collins cocktail an adaption from classic Tom Collins. Cranberry simple syrup is substituted for simple syrup to create a blood red cranberry cocktail
What is Tom Collins?
The Tom Collins is a Collins cocktail made from gin, lemon juice, sugar, and carbonated water. First memorialized in writing in 1876 by Jerry Thomas, "the father of American mixology", this "gin and sparkling lemonade" drink is typically served in a Collins glass over ice. Hence, a Tom Collins is a highball because it is made of gin mixed with lemon juice and simple syrup and topped off with seltzer. The drink can be built, or mixed, in a glass full of ice. It is served in a tall tumbler, or highball glass - or more traditionally in the narrower, taller Collins glass.
How I made Cranberry Collins Cocktail
First, I made cranberry simple syrup with sugar and cranberries. I used frozen cranberries; you can use fresh one. Once you made cranberry simple syrup you have done 75% of recipe. Next part is to mix everything in. Yes, you need to mix gin, cranberry simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, cranberry juice and ice. Shake and serve it in a high ball glass with full of ice and top of with Regatta Club soda. Regatta craft mixers has various products that you can mix in with your favorite drinks.
If you want, you add little cinnamon while making cranberry syrup. That way you can spice up a little for the season. I didn’t add that.
Tips to Remember
- Cranberry simple syrup is must that adds extra level of flavor component to this cocktail
- You can use Vodka instead of Gin then it become Cranberry Vodka Collins
- You can also use fresh and frozen cranberries
- If you want to make mocktails, skip the alcohol and add orange juice.
- Use unsweetened 100% cranberry juice to give tart taste to the cocktail
- You can use white cranberry juice instead of red in the recipe. (white cranberries? They’re cranberries early in the harvest season, and they’re ripe! if you freeze or cook them, they turn red though)
