This is not only simple but also healthy Julio Verde : on the go smoothie made with fresh spinach, mango, freshly squeezed orange juice, almond milk, pecan and coconut oil. No sugar added, Vegan
I have already admitted on my previous posts that I am a smoothie fan and looking forward to exploring more smoothie recipes. This one is inspired from a menu sheet I found in JuiceLand. I haven’t got a chance to visit there yet, but maybe some time I will visit.
This Julio: on the go green smoothie is curated by me. You can increase or decrease the amount of ingredients change according to your preference.
This is not only simple but also healthy on the go smoothie made with fresh spinach, mango, freshly squeezed orange juice, pecan and coconut oil. I always make sure to use ingredients that are fresh and organic to get the utmost in health benefits and taste.
The only frozen item that I used is the bananas as it gives natural ice cream taste. I have already tried few green smoothies this one is entirely different with the addition of pecan and coconut oil.
This one doesn’t have any added sugar or sweetener. So, my diabetic hubby can also enjoy. Best part is that you won’t miss any sweetness in the recipe as it has natural sugar from mango, banana and orange juice. I thought spinach will add some bitterness trust me it blends very with fruit.
Mango is fiber rich, sweet, with glycemic index ranges between 41 to 60, with an average of 51. The value of 51 is on the lower end of the glycemic index scale. Foods that are less than 55 are low glycemic food and are considered safe for diabetics to consume.
Also, banana is rich in potassium, orange means vitamin C, pecans gives monounsaturated fats such as oleic acid along with phenolic antioxidants which can help reduce the risk of heart disease.
Spinach brings you Iron, Magnesium also help in lowering blood pressure and Coconut oil is superfood is loaded with saturated fats that raise HDL (good) cholesterol and lower your risk of heart disease. Almond milk will add calcium and protein content.
If you can get all these benefits with drinking a glass of this Juilo verde on the go smoothie then why don’t try it. I strictly recommend no sweetener.
