I started drinking green tea daily during my stay in Japan. But after leaving Japan it became an occasional habit. Now I want to start drinking it daily again. I don’t like just like green tea as such, so decide to incorporate some extra flavor to it. I think this combo of lemon, cinnamon and green tea goes really well.
In my home town Kerala there is lemon tea which is Sulaimani Chaya/ Sulaimani Tea/ Lemon tea I have blogged about it earlier and it turned out to be one of the popular post of mine. That one I tried with loose black tea. I have tried a version of green tea before which is Holly Basil tea . This one is different from that.
All the tea recipes are diabetic friendly, I made Sulaimani tea with Sweet‘N Low packet. The other two recipes don’t even contain any added sugar. My hubby who is diabetic is also a tea lover, so I try to make new tea recipes in such way that he can also enjoy.
I made lemon cinnamon green tea as hot tea, you can make it as cold also, but maybe need to double or triple the recipe. This is also great drink after a heavy meal. I saw a pin in Pinterest saying that if you drink green tea after breakfast then it helps in dehydration, before bed time it helps weight loss, throughout day for detox and 1 hour before or after meal prevent nutrient absorption. I think the weight loss will result only after doing exercise along with green tea.
This tea is delicious even without sugar. You can have it any time of the day as this won’t hurt as it has only good ingredients green tea, lemon which is loaded with vitamin C and cinnamon a healthy spice.
