Delicious strawberry margarita with fresh strawberries, tequila , triple sec, lime juice and simple syrup.
Summer vacations have started for both of my kids so it is more relaxed atmosphere in my home. Further at the local HEB store strawberries are cheaper now, and for $1.68 you can get a 16 oz box. So I buy them every time shop. As you know I am margarita fan, love to try fruit based margarita if possible. I have tried mango margarita , pomegranate margarita, apple cider margarita, cranberry margarita, pineapple margarita earlier. So now I wanted to try strawberry margarita.
Next I am going to experiment with veggies, yes cucumber margarita, roasted beet margarita etc. Now you know how crazy I am when it comes to margarita. I don’t know tequila, triple sac and lime juice does wonders when they are combined. I got this recipe from various sources, and then I changed it according to my taste buds. Hubby was really skeptical about strawberry margarita. But he changed his opinion immediately after the first sip. Yes he told me it is delicious.
I used fresh strawberry puree just I like use for popsicles and ice cream. I make huge batch every time. As my kids want strawberry ice cream and Popsicle I always have a batch in the freezer. Usually I add sugar along with strawberry. This time I made just puree without any addition of sugar. I included simple syrup in the margarita recipe. This is great colorful drink that is perfect for your summer entertainment. If you want make frozen margarita that also is possible; blend everything with ice in a blender. I like this way.
When berries are abundant use fresh fruit rather than frozen ones because fresh strawberries have best flavors than their frozen counterpart. Salt the rim of glass if you want you can add little touch of cayenne pepper, I didn’t add it. This is not a sweet margarita just perfect sweetness you want in your margarita. Make sure to fire up the grill, and enjoy this strawberry margarita next time you arrange get together after all summer is here.

Swathi, I should have had this with my tacos this evening! I've given up on strawberry margaritas in restaurants because they're too sweet, but your recipe sounds like it would be just the way I like it! Pinning!

My son lives in San Antonio. He kept talking about HEB, but I didn't "get" it. Then when I visited this spring, he took me shopping at his local HEB. Oh. My. Goodness. I was in love. Too bad I couldn't take a truck load of groceries on the flight back to Ohio.
Your strawberries are beautiful. No wonder you bought a bunch!
