Whiskey Orange Crush Cocktail

Whiskey Orange Crush cocktail is a simple mix of orange juice, Whiskey, triple sec, and lemon-lime soda. This is a delicious summery drink.

If you love enjoy Whiskey in cocktail form, then try this Whiskey Crush Cocktail. This is simple, and easily made with lots of fresh orange juice, orange liquor, and citrus flavored soda.

This whiskey crush cocktail is adapted from Ryleigh's Sagamore Crush which in turn was inspired from orange crush cocktail of Maryland.    I liked this Whiskey Crush Cocktail because it does not require any other addition of alcohol or bitters. Simple only orange juice and Triple sec.

Orange crush is signature drink of Ocean city, Maryland.  Made with vodka, triple sec, and fresh orange juice, it is tasty, and you can find it in just about every bar in Maryland.   I think it  is one of those dangerous drinks,  as you do not realize how much you have drunk until you have to stand up.

Why Whiskey Orange Crush Cocktail?

 Beauty of this cocktail is because it is not a pompous cocktail — it can be made by anyone including me.

If I can make it, you can also do it. You need only a few ingredients about 4 ingredients to make this delicious cocktail.

Fresh orange juice: I found that freshly squeezed orange juice is sweeter than a store-bought version.

Triple sec: This is orange liquor and adds extra dimension to this drink.

Whiskey: I used Select Club Pecan Praline Whiskey you can use any of your favorite Whiskey.

Lime-lemon soda: This is used top of the cocktail with your favorite ones.

Garnish: I used simple orange wheel and mint sprigs.

Points to remember while making this delicious summery drink.

I have made a shaken Whiskey Orange Crush Cocktail. You can make a no shaken version too. Just stir with ice using a bar spoon. I feel that because of citrus juice it will be better to shake the cocktail to achieve the right texture and blend of flavors.

I have lime -lemon soda like sprite and used that one. If you do not want, you can use ginger ale.

Since Select club Pecan Praline Whiskey is sweet along with lime -lemon soda, I did not add any simple syrup. You will not miss that in this cocktail.

I would say it is one of the pool side drink you can enjoy while bathing in the sun.

 Variations

You can make variations to this cocktail by simply changing orange juice to grapefruit crush. If you like non-alcoholic version, then try skipping the Whiskey and Triple sec.

Ingredients

• 1.5 oz Whiskey I used Select Club Pecan Praline Whiskey
• 3 oz Orange juice freshly squeezed
• 0.25 oz Triple sec
• 2 oz Lime-lemon soda
• Orange wheel and mint for garnish

Instructions

• In a cocktail shaker add, orange juice, triple sec, whiskey and ice and shake well
• Then strain it into highball glasses with crushed ice.
• Garnish with orange wheel and mint for garnish
• Enjoy

Variation

You can use blood orange juice instead of Orange juice. In that case use a splash of simple syrup.
