This is again a result of a failed attempt at making smoothie bowl. Yes, I indented to make watermelon smoothie bowl. After so many brainstorming and recipe search, I decide to combine watermelon, strawberry and banana to make smoothie bowl. But watermelon decided that I want to stand alone not as smoothie bowl. Thus, Watermelon Strawberry Banana Smoothie form it is not thick to be smoothie bowl.
I added a secret ingredient to the smoothie; ginger. Adding ginger to watermelon juice is common in my hometown, Kerala, India. You can feel the zing of ginger. Strawberry added color to the smoothie, where banana bought some creaminess. Did you know Watermelon contains only 46 calories per cup but is high in vitamin C, vitamin A and many healthy plant compounds and is 92% water. Choline – found in watermelon – is a very important and versatile nutrient; it aids our bodies in sleep, muscle movement, learning, and memory. Choline also helps to maintain the structure of cellular membranes, aids in the transmission of nerve impulses, assists in the absorption of fat, and reduces chronic inflammation. Watermelon is safe for people with diabetes to eat in small amounts. It is best to eat watermelon with other high-GI fruits or the alongside foods that contain plenty of healthful fats, fiber, and protein.
Watermelon is a great snack to have on hand during the hot summer months to prevent dehydration. It can also be frozen in slices for a tasty cold Popsicle-style snack.
I bought a personal watermelon from Kroger for only 99 cents is steal according to me. Earlier I have tried watermelon smoothie, then two types of watermelon salad, one with feta cheese and other with blue cheese.
So if you ask me have you stopped the idea of making watermelon smoothie bowl , my answer is no, it is still in the list. Maybe I will add some avocado. I don’t know, watermelon and avocado will be weird combo. I will try and let you know.
For the time being try this vegan, no-sugar added watermelon strawberry banana smoothie with ginger in the background. My little girl who always wants an always a good amount of smoothie in her smoothie and juices finished without even asking any sugar. So, this is kid approved. So, go for it.
